Port tankerman

The Port Tankerman will be responsible for conducting hands-on training, continuous development, ongoing evaluation, and transfer monitoring of BMS deck crew. This includes both Tankermen Trainees and licensed Tankermen. Must be well-versed in the same responsibilities as Port Engineers for Vessels and Barges, and Port Captains, enabling them to step in when needed and provide emergency assistance to BMS vessels. 

Port Engineer - barges

The Barge Port Engineer is responsible for ensuring the company’s fleet of tank barges are properly maintained, equipped for safe and reliable operations, and in compliance with all regulatory and customer requirements. The requirements are described in the Code of Federal Regulations and BMS Playbook (safety management manual). This is accomplished through a combination of hands-on work, coordination with BMS employees and oversight of 3rd party vendors.

WHEELMAN

A Buffalo Marine Wheelman is the manager of the vessel and barge. He or she is responsible for the crew's adherence to all USCG and company policies. The Wheelman navigates safely, supervises the crew, oversees safety and maintenance programs, complies with rules and regulations, and protects the environment.  More information can be found in the complete job description.

tankerman

A Buffalo Marine Tankerman is responsible for the safe, efficient, reliable, and environmentally compliant operation of his or her assigned area. The primary function is to prepare the barges for safe and complete loading and discharging of product. More information can be found in the complete job description.

deckhand

A Buffalo Marine Deckhand is responsible for the safe, efficient, reliable, and environmentally compliant operation of his or her assigned area. A Deckhand will preform tasks (not limited to); building and breaking tow, preforming vessel maintenance, and complete company training.
